With more than 20 years of investment banking, equity capital markets and consulting experience, David brings creativity, know-how and a long-term perspective to each client relationship. Prior to launching Locust Hill Advisors, David was founder and CEO of ICR Capital, the broker-dealer affiliate of ICR. During his time at the firm, he led both the Capital Markets Advisory and Sponsor Coverage practices.
David has provided expert counsel to privately-held businesses, public companies and financial sponsors on a wide range of corporate finance activities, originating and executing more than 100 equity offerings, M&A mandates, and leveraged finance transactions.
His corporate board experience and role as an investor in private businesses has given David unique insight into the strategic challenges and value creation opportunities faced by companies across verticals and stages of development.
He began his investment banking career at BT Alex. Brown and held senior positions with Lehman Brothers, Jefferies and KeyBanc Capital Markets.
David received his MBA from The Darden School at the University of Virginia and a BA in Economics from Gettysburg College.

As a senior capital markets banker, David has originated and executed more than 85 lead managed IPOs, marketed follow-ons, block trades and convertible notes offerings totaling over $80 billion in proceeds.
Prior to joining Locust Hill Advisors, David served as Managing Director and Co-Head of the Equity Capital Markets Financial Institutions Group at Barclays Capital via its acquisition of Lehman Brothers. During his tenure at the firm, Barclays became the first foreign bank to rank among the top five in U.S. equity league tables and was named “Bank of the Year” by International Financing Review.
David was responsible for originating and executing Barclays’ first ever lead managed IPO (CYS Investments). He is not afraid to challenge the status quo, and has successfully executed offerings that competitor firms thought were not possible. Many of the transactions David led were landmarks not only for client companies, but also for the industry.
David earned his MBA from the University of Chicago, an MA in Religion from Yale University and a BA in History from Washington & Lee University
